Elevated Addition
With a growing young family, these homeowners sought a second-story home addition in Barrie to gain more space without the hassle of moving. By expanding and reconfiguring the second floor, the renovation transformed the home from four bedrooms and two bathrooms into a six-bedroom, three-bathroom layout, perfectly tailored to their needs.
A key highlight of this renovation was the addition of a new primary suite over the existing garage. This retreat features an ensuite with a steam shower and double vanity, plus two walk-in closets for ample storage. Large windows bring in abundant natural light, enhancing the sense of openness.
As part of the new expansion, an additional second bedroom with its own ensuite and walk-in closet was built. The existing second floor was also reconfigured to accommodate a more functional shared bathroom and provide extra closet space for family members.
Now, each family member has their own private retreat, and the newly expanded home offers ample space to host guests comfortably. This elevated addition provides both practicality and modern comfort, ensuring the home meets the family’s needs for years to come.
Retirement Retreat
This modern bungalow renovation transformed a dated 1980s home into a comfortable, retirement-ready retreat. The homeowners, preparing for their next chapter, wanted a warm and inviting space that prioritized both style and function.
To achieve this, we removed walls and reconfigured spaces, creating a seamless open-concept layout. The basement walls required crucial repairs, ensuring long-term structural integrity. Brighter, larger doors were installed to maximize natural light, enhancing the home’s airy feel.
A spacious kitchen with an island became the heart of the home, offering ample room for cooking and gathering. Carefully selected feature lighting, warm colours, and rich textures brought depth and personality to the space.
Now, the new owners enjoy a beautifully modernized bungalow designed for comfort, function, and years of joyful living.
Townhouse Renewal
This townhouse renovation revitalized a 1970s flat roof six-unit structure, transforming it into a modern and highly desirable living space. The project started with a full demolition, addressing outdated structures and critical issues, including asbestos abatement.
The renovation included new windows, doors, electrical systems, plumbing, and insulation, ensuring each unit met today’s standards for comfort and efficiency. To improve functionality, we installed individual meters for water, natural gas, and hydro, providing accurate billing for tenants.
On the exterior, the building was meticulously finished to blend seamlessly with neighbouring properties. Each unit received a private patio and fully landscaped outdoor space, creating an inviting atmosphere. New asphalt completed the transformation, enhancing curb appeal and long-term durability.
This project showcases how a thoughtful renovation can turn an aging structure into a profitable, modern rental property. The results speak for themselves – all six units were rented within weeks, delivering strong investment returns for the owner.
Stair & Bath Makeover
Returning to enhance their home further, previous clients decided to upgrade their stairs, upstairs bathroom and hallway. This renovation aimed to create a more refined and cohesive look, complementing previous work.
The staircase transformation included new pickets, square posts, and resurfaced treads and risers to match the existing hardwood flooring, achieving a polished look. The outdated bathroom was modernized with a new shower and vanity. By removing the wall between the old vanity and toilet, a wider vanity with two sinks was installed. New finishes were applied to elevate the overall design.
Hardwood flooring was added to the upstairs hallway, matching the downstairs flooring and enhancing continuity.
This renovation refreshed key areas of the home, showcasing the impact of thoughtful design and meticulous craftsmanship in achieving a cohesive and refined appearance.
