Elevated Addition

With a growing young family, these homeowners sought a second-story home addition in Barrie to gain more space without the hassle of moving. By expanding and reconfiguring the second floor, the renovation transformed the home from four bedrooms and two bathrooms into a six-bedroom, three-bathroom layout, perfectly tailored to their needs.

A key highlight of this renovation was the addition of a new primary suite over the existing garage. This retreat features an ensuite with a steam shower and double vanity, plus two walk-in closets for ample storage. Large windows bring in abundant natural light, enhancing the sense of openness.

As part of the new expansion, an additional second bedroom with its own ensuite and walk-in closet was built. The existing second floor was also reconfigured to accommodate a more functional shared bathroom and provide extra closet space for family members.

Now, each family member has their own private retreat, and the newly expanded home offers ample space to host guests comfortably. This elevated addition provides both practicality and modern comfort, ensuring the home meets the family’s needs for years to come.

Whitehaven Kitchen

This spacious kitchen renovation transformed a cramped, outdated space into a modern and highly functional cooking area – without altering the home’s footprint. The clients wanted an open-concept kitchen with ample storage and natural light, blending style with practicality.

To maximize the space, we repurposed an unused hall closet and a garage nook, seamlessly integrating them into the new layout. Custom millwork played a key role, featuring a double-sided pantry for enhanced storage.

The kitchen design includes white recessed panel cabinetry with cherry wood accents, frosted upper cabinets with LED lighting, and a stone tile backsplash. Quartz countertops provide a durable yet elegant surface, while sleek tiled flooring adds to the contemporary aesthetic.

The final result is a bright, open kitchen with a large eat-at island and an adjacent dining area bathed in natural light – a perfect blend of functionality and modern elegance.

Accessibility Upgrade

This accessibility renovation focused on transforming a newly purchased home into a fully wheelchair-accessible living space across all levels. The work began with a patio lift and new composite porch at the front entrance, ensuring immediate access.

After securing permits, we built a second-floor addition and installed an elevator in the garage, connecting all three levels and the garage itself. The elevator now provides smooth access to the kitchen, basement, primary bedroom, and garage, removing all mobility barriers.

To ensure cohesion, both interior and exterior finishes were matched to the original home. Oak trim and hardwood flooring carried throughout the interior maintain a warm, elegant look. Additional upgrades included a rear deck, finished basement, oak barn doors, and updated kitchen and bathrooms.

The project was recently completed with a new roof, adding both protection and value. This renovation shows that accessibility and elegant design can go hand in hand, creating a home that is both beautiful and barrier-free.
