Elevated Addition
With a growing young family, these clients sought to expand their home without the hassle of moving. Collaborating closely with them to understand their needs and desires, the decision was made to renovate and expand the entire second floor.
This transformation turned the existing layout from four bedrooms and two bathrooms into a spacious six-bedroom, three-bathroom haven. A new primary suite, featuring an ensuite with a steam shower and double vanity, was added over the existing garage. Two walk-in closets provide ample storage space while large windows flood the room with natural light, creating a sense of spaciousness and openness.
As part of the new addition, a second bedroom was built, complete with its own ensuite and walk-in closet. The existing second floor was reconfigured to accommodate a more functional shared bathroom and provide extra closet space for family members.
The newly renovated second floor ensures that every family member has their own private retreat, while also offering abundant space to comfortably host guests.
Whitehaven Kitchen
The clients wished to expand their small, cramped kitchen without altering their home’s footprint, seeking an open concept with ample storage and functionality. By repurposing an unused hall closet and a garage nook, the new design seamlessly integrated with the existing home, creating a spacious cooking area.
Custom millwork allowed for a personalized kitchen, featuring a double-sided pantry for storage. White recessed panel doors with cherry wood accents, frosted upper cabinets with LED lighting, sleek tiled flooring, quartz countertops, and a stone backsplash completed the modern aesthetic.
The final result is a spacious cooking area with a large eat-at island and an adjacent dining space bathed in natural light, providing both functionality and style.
Accessibility Upgrade
This project involved transforming a new home to ensure wheelchair accessibility across all floors, beginning with the immediate installation of a front patio lift and a new composite porch. After securing the necessary planning and permits, a second-floor addition was constructed, integrating an elevator in the garage to provide seamless access to all three floors and garage.
The renovation included matching the new interior and exterior to the existing home, featuring interior oak trim and hardwood floors for a cohesive look. The elevator now services the kitchen, basement, garage, and primary bedroom, ensuring accessibility throughout the entire home. Additional upgrades included a rear deck, finished basement, oak barn doors, and updated bathrooms and kitchen. The most recent addition was a new roof, providing improved durability and protection.
This renovation project underscores the ability to blend accessibility with elegance, ensuring every home meets the highest standards of comfort and design.
