Paul Hood, the owner of Bay Point Contracting, started working under his father as a young man and transitioned into focusing on home renovations as he honed his craft, continuing to specialize for more than 30 years. A passion for outstanding work and forever guided by his principles and values, Paul’s visionary direction is why Bay Point is known for its professionalism, unprecedented guarantees and customer relationships that transcend beyond the initial project.

At home, as in the business, Paul places principles and values at the forefront of everything he does, personally and professionally, including with his wife and adult children. As a result, people are important to him which shows through to every customer.

Personally, Paul enjoys time with his family, sailing and serving his church. As a man of faith, he sees himself as the steward of the business and constantly endeavors to honor God in his daily life and actions.

Rebecca Farnsworth: Interior Designer

Rebecca is a graduate of Ryerson University’s CIDA accredited Interior Design program. Having experience working in custom residential along with retail design, Rebecca brings a well rounded client centered approach to the design process. Having known from a young age that a passion career in a creative field was the right choice, she thoroughly enjoys working through the multiple phases of design to bring client’s visions to reality.

Building trust and strong communication are the foundation of what Rebecca believes can be the building blocks of a great client/designer relationship.

With over ten years working in CAD software Rebecca is able to take client ideas and form them into tangible visual presentations and working drawings.

In her free time Rebecca can be found still enjoying creative outlets and can be regularly found painting, trying out a new recipe or DIYing something around the house.

We hired Bay Point last year to renovate our entire home. The owner Paul and the Project Manager, Mark, were always very professional, communicative, honest and patient throughout the entire process. Having so much experience and knowledge, Paul was also able to provide us with some suggestions for improvements to our home which we are very grateful for. Bay Point exceeded our expectations in terms of business professionalism. Renovating on a large scale is very stressful, but Paul and Mark made the process easier. We renovated during the pandemic and as was the case with most industries, but specifically the construction industry, Bay Point and consequently us encountered some hiccups and frustrations, but again, it was always dealt with great professionalism and honesty which never left us questioning our confidence in them. We highly recommend and we would without hesitation use them for future projects and in fact have already.

We have known Paul Hood for over 7 years. During this time his company has been involved in many different renovations within our home. He built and elevator on our two story home, expanded the master bedroom, replaced a wall and put in barn doors, insulated and redesigned our garage and porch, repaired our drainage in both our garage and workshop, repaired our basement that another contractor botched, built an extension onto our front porch. We are still wanting other renovations to be completed in the future and we will be getting Paul to do so. When working with Paul, he is extremely knowledgeable about his craft. He listens to what we want and is able to design it for us. He is thorough when drawing up a contract and is able to stay on budget and time allocation to complete the project. He gives us fair warning if he needs extra time. Paul’s character Is very professional and understands his client’s needs. If we had any concerns at anytime then he was there to communicate with us and to brainstorm alternative ideas. Paul also has a wealth of knowledge regarding resources and materials needed to complete a project. Paul Hood is a responsible contractor who values his work and clients and is someone who is reliable within his profession. We have recommended him to other individuals who have been looking for a responsible, knowledgeable contractor.

We purchased a home built in the early 1980's and everything inside was still original. We wanted to update and remodel both floors of the raised bungalow and we contracted Paul to do the work. From our very first meeting, we knew we made the right choice. Paul had excellent ideas on how we could maximize space, and the work that followed was done professionally and with great care to quality and craftsmanship. Paul's construction team was professional, polite and a pleasure to work with. We are absolutely thrilled with our new home and have no hesitation in recommending Paul for any construction or remodeling work.

They were on top of everything. The two projects (new kitchen) (new fireplace) turned out great. A picture of the kitchen belongs in a magazine. The fireplace is a linear one, very modern. Could not be more pleased with the contrator. Would recommend Paul to anyone. Paul only has a trades man come in for the work. Each tradesmen is a profesional in their own job, (painter, electrition, tile installer, plumber, fireplace installer etc)Bay Point Contracting is the professional that should be used. Paul comes highly recommended for any contracting that is required.

We recently were in need of a small renovation and after reaching out to many contractors in Barrie, Baypoint was one of the only to actually get back to us. They were incredibly responsive. Paul was in the next day for a quote and got back to me by end of the week. They started work the following week and were done in a week (it wasn't a big job). We were able to continue to operate our business as usual and barely noticed there was work being done. Their level of professionalism and communication exceeded my expectations. We will absolutely be using them in the future if needed as well as recommending them! Seriously great work, thank you.

Bay Point managed our kitchen reno which also included electrical work on our whole main floor, along with plumbing changes, redoing our ceiling and painting. Paul was very responsive from the beginning with any questions we had. Mark, our project manager did a great job keeping things on track. All the trades they brought in were great to work with.
